Hyundai Santa Fe: Power Tailgate Module / Power Tailgate Latch. Repair procedures

Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

Remove the tailgate trim.
(Refer to Body - "Tailgate Trim")

3. |
Remove the tail gate latch and PCU (A) after loosening the mounting
bolts.
|
1. |
Install the power tailgate latch & PCU assembly.
Tightening torque :
Latch : 7.6 - 11.4 N.m (0.7 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.6 - 8.4 lb-ft)
PCU : 2.7 - 4.0 N.m (0.3 - 0.4 kgf.m, 3.0 - 5.8 lb-ft)

Install the tailgate trim.

Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.

Inspection of the Power Tailgate Latch
Refer to Power Tailgate System - "Troubleshooting"
Removal

After replacing with a new power tailgate module, check for
DTC code at all times...

Checking the engine oil level

1. Follow all of the oil manufacturer’s precautions.
2. Be sure the vehicle is on the level ground in P (Park) with the parking brake
set and the wheels blocked.
3. Turn the engine on and allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature...
