Drive Belt. Repair procedures

Removal

•	Be careful not to damage the parts located under the vehicle (floor under cover, fuel filter, fuel tank and canister) when raising the vehicle using the lift. (Refer to General Information - "Lift and Support Points")

1.	Remove the front tire. (Refer to Suspension System - "Wheel")

2.	Remove the engine room under cover. (Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")

3.	Remove the RH front wheel guard. (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "Front Wheel Guard")

4.	For release the tension, turn the drive belt tensioner clockwise using a wrench then remove the drive belt (A).

Remove the water pump belt.

(1)	Insert the SST (09252-C1000) between the water pump pulley and the water pump belt.

(2)	Remove the water pump belt(A) by turning the damper pulley clockwise.

Installation

Install the water pump belt.

(1)	Insert the SST (09252-C1000) between the water pump pulley and the water pump belt.

(2)	Remove the water pump belt(A) by turning the damper pulley clockwise.

2.	For release the tension, turn the drive belt tensioner clockwise using a wrench then install the drive belt (A).

Inspection

Visually check the belt for excessive wear, frayed cords etc.

If any defect has been found, replace the drive belt.

Cracks on the rib side of a belt are considered acceptable. If the belt has chunks missing from the ribs, it should be replaced.

Removal and Installation

1.	Remove the drive belt. (Refer to Drive Belt System - "Drive Belt")

Remove the drive belt auto tensioner (A).

Tightening torque :

53.9 - 63.7 N.m (5.5 - 6.5 kgf.m, 39.7 - 47.0 lb-ft)

3.	Install in the reverse order of removal.

Crankshaft Damper Pulley. Repair procedures

Removal and Installation

•	Be careful not to damage the parts located under the vehicle (floor under cover, fuel filter, fuel tank and canister) when raising the vehicle using the lift. (Refer to General Information - "Lift and Support Points")

1.	Remove the drive belt. (Refer to Drive Belt System - "Drive Belt")

Remove the crankshaft damper pulley (A).

Tightening torque :

114.7 - 120.6 N.m (11.7 - 12.3 kgf.m, 25.8 - 27.1 lb-ft) + [68° - 72°]

•	Install the SST (09231-3D100) to hold the ring gear after removing the dust cover.

1)	Remove the dust cover (A) on the bottom of the ladder frame.

2)	Loosen the transaxle mounting bolt (B).

3)	Adjust the length of the holder nuts so that the front plate of the holder puts in the ring gear teeth.

4)	Adjust the angle of the links so that the two transaxle mounting bolts can be fastened to the original mounted holes.

5)	Install the SST (09231-3D100) using the two transaxle mounting bolts and spacers. Tighten the bolts and nuts of the holder and links securely.

3.	Install in the reverse order of removal.
