Hyundai Santa Fe (TM): Tail Gate / Tail Gate Trim. Repair procedures

Replacement

[Tailgate lower trim]

•	Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.

•	When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.

•	Take care not to scratch the body surface.

1.	Remove the tailgate upper & lower trim. (Refer to Tailgate - "Liftgate Trim")

2.	Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the pull handle (A).

3.	Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the PTG switch (A).

4.	After loosening the mounting screws and fastner remove the tailgate lower trim (A).

To install, reverse removal procedure.

•	Replace any damaged clips.

[Tailgate upper trim]

•	Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.

•	When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.

•	Take care not to scratch the body surface.

1.	Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the tailgate upper trim (A).

To install, reverse removal procedure.

•	Replace any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers).

[Tailgate side trim]

•	Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.

•	When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.

•	Take care not to scratch the body surface.

1.	Remove the tailgate upper trim. (Refer to Tailgate - "Liftgate Trim")

2.	Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the side trim (A). [LH] [RH]

To install, reverse removal procedure.

•	Replace any damaged clips (or pin-type retainers).

Component Location 1. Tailgate Lower Trim 2. Tailgate Upper Trim 3. Tailgate Side Trim

Replacement • Take care to not let the tailgate fall on you as the lifts are removed.
